_BIO
Born in 1992 in Leuven, Maarten De Naeyer creates work that revolves around contrast, texture, and emotion. Working within an abstract graphic language, he intuitively builds compositions from simple forms that interact with one another. Each element relates to the next, creating a subtle field of tension and balance.
In his paintings, form and texture come together in a quiet dialogue. His process is both intuitive and considered, searching for the essence of an image through contrasts, connections, and carefully placed shapes.
Maarten’s background in graphic design is clearly visible in his restrained visual language and attention to detail. Through this minimal yet expressive approach, he invites the viewer to experience shapes, surfaces, and emotions in a more attentive way, opening space for interpretation through his personal artistic language.
